We heaped a 8'x4' trailer in 9 minutes!
Using the 4-way knife on poplar we heaped a 8'x4' trailer in 9 minutes! After 3 trailer loads it had not even used 1/4 tank fuel. The only problem is I now have too much spare time! I don't regret spending the extra money and getting such a fast machine. Thank you for selling it to me!

Excellent log splitter
Easy to assemble, had to lift the main beam with the tractor as it's heavy as it should be. Splitting gnarly Macrocarpa stump tops is no problem. It ignores knots and the vertical operation is ideal for dealing with big heavy rounds. Wished I bought it sooner. Thoroughly recommend.

    What size tractor do I need to run a tractor powered log splitter?

    The tractor size required to run a tractor splitter is more dependant on the auxiliary oil flow than actual engine horsepower. For example, modern compact tractors sometimes have better oil flow than larger older tractors. We recommend you get in contact with the team at Taskpower and we can recommend the best log splitter to suit both your tractor and your firewood.

    How fast is a tractor powered log splitter?

    Split-Fire tractor powered log splitters are very fast – they split both ways, ensuring you never wait for the ram to return.
    This means even if you have a tractor with low oil flow, the cycle time ‘per split’ is still plenty fast enough to keep up with!

    What wood can a tractor powered log splitter handle?

    Our tractor powered log splitters can handle almost any wood found on an NZ farm. The 3000 series units are capable of handling pine, macrocarpa and green gum; the 4000 series can handle knotty, knarly wood or hard gum.

    What are the benefits of a tractor powered log splitter vs motorised?

    A Tractor powered log splitter is less hassle than motorised, as it involves one less engine to worry about. Also, the tractor powered log splitter will be cheaper compared to a motorised equivalent unit.
