    These quad bike mowers are built strong in NZ for NZ conditions, and are simple, easy to use and powerful. Make mowing your paddocks easier with our topper mowers! Simply attach the mower to your quad, ATV, UTV, side by side or ute - whatever you're towing with, set the height, start the engines - and you're mowing, it's that simple!

    With no pesky belts like a belt driven mower, and simpler and faster than a flail mower, Smokey Goat Mowers are all about making mowing or topping your paddocks easier.

    Available in a range of three sizes, and with the option of wheels behind (ideal for mowing slopes, bumpier ground and rougher terrain), or wheels beside the deck (better for mowing close to fences and orchard rows, and gives a slightly better cut) - you can be assured we have the mower for you.

    Fitted with powerful Kohler motors, Smokey Goat topper mowers are built to last. Kohler motors are very well backed up in NZ and parts are readily available if required.

    What are the benefits of a tow behind mower vs a ride on mower?

    A tow behind mower for behind a quad bike has less moving parts than a rideon mower. Importantly it has no belts or transmission so is much better suited for mowing rougher terrain. Tow behind mowers are simpler and less maintenance than a ride on mower too.

    Where are Smokey Goat Mowers made?

    Smokey Goat mowers are made right here in New Zealand. We design, fabricate and powdercoat the mowers right here. The mowers are designed for NZ conditions and are made to last.

    What are the benefits of topping my paddocks?

    Even on small paddocks, if you have stock, there are significant benefits to topping the paddocks. Topping the grass promotes healthy regrowth, and ensures growth is nutrient rich for the livestock. If grass isn't topped, it becomes stalky and goes to seed, and becomes unpalatable to the livestock.

    Is a flail mower better than a topper mower?

    We often get asked, do you sell a flail mower? The reason a Smokey Goat tow mower is better than a flail mower, is that our type of mower is lower maintenance and better for cutting grass. Flail mowers may be better for cutting very thick or heavy non-grass vegetation, but a tow and mow such as a Smokey Goat mower, will always be faster and more cost effective for cutting grass.
